An official dyslexia diagnosis is typically required to receive accommodations and services in the public school setting. Reading specialists are not trained and licensed to diagnose learning disabilities and dyslexia; a neuropsychologist or specially trained educational psychologist is the professional that is able to do that. Molly Coppel, LEP, specializes in psychoeducational and school neuropsychological evaluations for school-aged children and young adults to examine suspected Learning Disabilities (e.g., Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability, Autism, and/or Mood Disorders (e.g., Depression and Anxiety). She creates tailored recommendations including strategies, accommodations, and interventions to address learning challenges.
Dr. Sharon H. O'Neil, PhD, MHA, ABPP-CN, ABPdN and Dr. Ashley M. Whitaker, PhD, ABPP-CN are board-certified pediatric neuropsychologists who specialize in the assessment of learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as other developmental concerns.
